Interesting Night

So, it was an interesting night. I was not feeling great this afternoon. Had some cramping and went home early. Mom gave me some tea and we hung out for a bit. So my OB wanted me to go to the hospital. Turns out, I was having some contractions! Wow. Got some meds and a lovely exam. That was soooo fun. After about 3 hours in the hospital, we got to come home. I need to take it easy and drink lots of water.

Makes for a fun weekend! Talk to you soon!

Weekend Update

Hi All!
Hope everyone has had a good week. It feels like the longest week but it is only Wednesday! According to my mom, I look really prego. Thanks Mom! But I guess that was bound to happen. We are at 24 weeks… about 6 months and one week. Wow, time has really flown by. Lenny is moving and grooving..likes classical music and a little Michael Buble. A man after my own heart. We haven’t tried John’s mexican or grateful dead music yet. I am sure that will be requested from J at some point.

We are heading to Wichita this weekend for my work holiday party. That will be fun…I hope it doesn’t snow. Wrigley is having a sleepover at his Nana and Sir’s house while we are gone. He and Moose are now buds and all is right with the world. 🙂

The final draft of my thesis is turned in. Cross your fingers and hope for at least an 85. Then, I will be done. If not, there is one more rewrite. Boo. But people keep reminding me that the guy who graduates last in his med school class still is called Doctor…. I guess that makes me feel better?!?!?

John is doing great, as always. That man has the patience of a saint. He just came back from Wichita and now is going back with me for the party, among finals, papers and work. Poor guy.

Once my paper is approved, I will be able to work on the fun stuff like the nursery and getting the house ready for Christmas.

Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend. Love, C, J, L, and W.

Rock Chalk!!

Hi All,
We hope you had a great Thanksgiving with your families. We hit both sides of the family and ended the night with the Plaza lights! Cait hosted a dessert party and after the lights came on, we thawed with hot chocolate and sugar!

Lenny seems to have enjoyed his first (???) turkey dinner though strong flavors like garlic and spices seem to be more his favorite lately…. poor John.

We are still working on Lenny’s room… pics to come soon.

Have a great week!

Quick Post

Hi All…
We are getting our day started but wanted to throw this out to you. As we get ready to start registering (because we are already 6 months–next week!), what are a few things the new moms can’t live without?

Lenny is active. A few nights ago, I was reading on the couch and saw my tummy move. That was crazy! John missed it, so we are trying to get Lenny to do it again.

Wrigley is good— learning a new trick, would he rather be a wildcat or dead? Needless to say, we are still working on that.

Have a great weekend!

The beginning of the nursery…

Hi All…
Just a quick update on the decorating process. Mom, Dad and John sacrificed their Saturday to paint since I couldn’t. But I directed them as much as they would let me. The nursery is granny smith green-like. The pics show the process and the completed base coat.

We did get our sonogram pics scanned in too. So Lenny is hanging out below. And some people were requesting a tummy pic. So, you know I love you when I post these!

Wrigley went to his cousins for a play date today so he missed some of the fun.

Enjoy your weekend!

Guess What?!?!?

We learned some great news yesterday! Lenny is 14 ounces and has 10 fingers and 10 toes. That’s all. Just kidding!

We also found out that…Lenny is a BOY!

It was a nice surprise. So now we are working on boy names. My parents are hard at work on suggestions like Hawk (after Jayhawk), Fruhencio, and Yorbit (ball player for the Giants). Good thing we still have a few months to work on it.

Things are healthy with both Lenny and myself. I have gained about 6 lbs so far. I was told I need to gain a pound a week, and since my appetite is coming back… it might not be hard.

Our cutest story is that at one point during the sonogram, Lenny was laid out and had his legs crossed at the ankles. He was tapping one foot against my tummy. It was pretty cute. I wonder who he gets that tapping thing from, and if any of you know my other half, it is not a difficult guess.

John and Wrigley are doing great too. Wrig is getting into a routine and enjoys his dad waaayyy more than his mom. Oh well. I called dibs on the baby. 🙂

We are painting Lenny’s room this weekend. Should be pretty fun.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

No news yet….

Ok, just an update. We had an appt to have our sonogram last Friday. We were super excited. And then…on Friday…it happened. A scheduling error. Man. The bubble was busted. It’s ok though. We are rescheduled for this Thursday, Nov 8. So cross your fingers and toes.

But on a similar note, Lenny is moving a lot. Not enough to have outsiders feel, but I can usually time the movements in the early morning and late evening. So weird and pretty cool, all at the same time.

I also turn in my first draft of my thesis on Monday. Whew. You will probably hear the sigh of relief from any state in which you are reading this!

Have a great week! Love, C,J,L & W
